Old Airport Road gained its popularity because of the esteemed organization Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Also, it was called HAL Airport Road, and was renamed after Bangalore received its new airport at Devanahalli. And it finally merges with Varthur Road. Now all these regions are well-developed with both commercial and residential activities.
